The other day i was looking one the BYU home page and saw a story that i thought was so cool. there were some students that built a special lightweight, motorized wheelchair for kids that have disability. They made one for these two little boys that it can help them in so many ways. This media is great to hear about that these collage students were thinking about others that might need something that could change their life. A person that has had to use a wheelchair to get around knows how it is like our legs and it is crazy to think that some people cant get it because they are to much money. This makes me happy that this is not to much and it works for these little boys that will be able to do things they probably would not be able to do without this chair. I just want to say thanks to these BYU students.

I feel like music is and can be such a great way to use media.  I tend to get so stressed with school that when I turn on music it helps me so much in so many ways. I have just really have tired when I get overwhelmed that I stop what I am doing and turn on some kind of music. I turn it on and just lay there and think to myself. I feel like it helps me a lot. I had a friend tell me the other day that it if listen to at least 20 min a day it can help with you stress level I believe that in a lot of ways it at least helps me. Music is a powerful part of media and we need to use what we our given to help us in life.

I feel so blessed to be able to watch conference this weekend! It is always so great and it is always well needed. I got a letter from my brother that is on a mission this week and he said how sad he is because he might not be able to watch conference. He said that if they don’t have people that they are teaching they can’t watch it they have to go out and work. Crazy to me. It got me thinking how grateful I am that I get to watch it and also how amazing it is that there are so many people around the world that are able to watch it. We can learn so much and it is amazing to me to see how much it can help you with so much in life. Media like this is amazing how people can watch this in so many different ways. My brother gave me a challenge to go into it with some questions in mind and pray before and they will be answered in some way. I am so grateful for media for this reason.

I watched a movie the other day I loved it!! It was called 1000 to 1. It is about this boy that plays college basketball and he has a stroke. It puts him in the hospital and he has to relearn everything. His life changes in a matter of second. One day he is fine the next is he is a different person. He had to relearn how to talk, walk and everything. He does not let anything stop him from getting back to where he was. He works really hard to get back out on that court and that is what he did. I feel like we can all learn from this. life gets hard but we can keep going if we want it bad enough. This kind of media keeps me going and makes me want to go for my dreams. Everyone has dreams and every dream can come true!!

I was reading on line the other day about this little boy that all he wanted for his birthday is to get all this stuff for other kids that don't have a lot. when i hear about this kind of stuff on the media it makes me so happy and makes me want to do better. Him and his mom went out to get all this stuff from the store and they gave it to people in need. I think this story is so cool that a little boy would think to do this for his birthday! what a sweet story!!

The other day when I was watching the news this story came on and it mad me so sad and pretty frustrated. It was about this boy that had to use a wheelchair to get around his wheelchair was like his car. One night when he and his family were sleeping someone came and stole it. I don't think people realize how much a person that needs something like a wheelchair it take away ALOT of  our independence. As someone that has to use a wheelchair it is our legs you are taking away from us. Also you cant just go buy a new one they are so much money. It is like buying a car. I just felt so bad cause I know how it is trying to go without a wheelchair. I wish sometimes before people do something they would think how it will change someones life!! I don't like to here about this kind of stuff on media.

We all need to be happy for who we are and be proud to be you. I feel like Satan can get us down so fast and we cant let him. we are all worth something and we are here to do great things. I think we sometimes we for get that we are sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father that love us and that is all that matter. I saw this after we had that class on looks and thought I would post it. we should all be proud of who we are and don't let Satan tell us different.

I know some people don't like this kind of media but I love it!! This time of year and this kind of media is great I guess if you love basketball. I love march for this reason game after game yes I do have to say that this kind of media can not be the best because you just want to watch games. I always like to see all these teams work so hard to fight for something that is so cool. One thing that I love is you never know what the outcome will be because anyone can do it!!! It is cool to see who comes to play and who wants it!!! I think this can show hard work and how everyone can be a champion if they want it bad enough!! In everyday life we can be a champion with everything we do if we work hard and if we want it bad enough!!

  1. I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we're all teachers - if we're willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door. Marla Gibbs I love this so much and I believe this is so true. There is so many amazing thing that have come into my life that has change it for the better. I don't know where i would be without the amazing people in my life. They for sure keep me going and I don't think i thank them enough. Thanks to my family and friends for all that you do and for changing my life.

The other day I was reading online this article that was about this wife that divorced her husband because he wanted to keep their baby that had a disability. This is media that I don't like to here about, it break my heart.I realize that something like this can be very shocking and overwhelming but ever human with or without a disability should be loved no matter what their differences are. All I can think of is my parents and how loving and caring they are to me even with my differences. I am not saying that it has been easy for them I can only image what they felt when the doctor told them that their little girl would have a disability. I feel so lucky to have the parents I do. They have helped me in so many different ways and I am so grateful for that. I believe that everyone should have the chance and be loved by someone!!!

I really like this quote it keeps me going. Every one knows that life gets crazy and overwhelming. We want to do it all but the thing is we cant we need help for sure. I know I am a person that wants to do everything by myself and I have to learn that I cant. I have to have help everyone does..He wants us to turn to him in these times. I feel like there has been so many times where I feel so overwhelmed and he has sent me someone to help we just need to ask him. He loves us and he will take away are worries.

I love this song so much!!! I heard it and it got me thinking. I feel life gets crazy and sometimes we don't know what we are doing or how we are going to make it. I listen to this the other day and I loved it so much. I remember a time last semester that I was feeling so down and the only thing that kept me going was the power of prayer. I LOVE THE LESSONS WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS SONG!!  It helps us all know that life does get crazy but we are not alone and he is always there, and we just have to turn to him in prayer. Prayer is a strong thing and i think we sometimes for get to use it for the most important things and we need to remember to use it always for small or big things! Prayer is so powerful!!!!!

I was on YouTube the other day and I was watching this video. It was great!! I cried the whole way through it.  It made me so thankful for all those who are out serving to make us safe. I thank the families that let their family members go out there and fight for me. They leave behind so much and go out to keep us all safe! We are so lucky to live where we do! I also liked this video because it shows how much love this dad has for his little boy and his cute family. It made me think how grateful I am for my dad and what he has done for me in my life.

This week I was reading my scriptures and I came across this part that really stood out to me and I really liked. It said," I the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise." (Doctrine and Covenants, Doctrine and Covenants, Section 82). It made me really think that we have to do our part and if we do that he will do the rest. He is always willing to help us but if we are not doing our part he can't help us. I have really seen this in my life and I have seen if I am doing my part he will help and do the rest. We can't expect him to do it all we have to do our part.

My brother is on an LDS mission in Guatemala and the other day I was reading his letter that he sent home to our family. This really stood out to me. He said, If you truly take the time and study with the help of the Lord, it truly is so amazing and interesting! They truly are words of prophets that literally lived on this earth and were called by God! They performed miracles through the help of the Lord! Read the words of the Lord, you will receive guidance and peace! I know it, I have felt it! I really liked this because it really is true if you stop and take the time to study he will help us! I have truly seen this in my life if I take the time for him he will always take time for me!!! I love this!!! In this case I am so thankful for the media so that we can send and get emails from my brother that I truly love so much!

A Girl...A Love...A Dream

I have a love for basketball! My love for it started at a young age. I always tell people that I was born to play but someone forgot to tell my legs. I am in a wheelchair so I have never been able to play it, but I live my dreams through others. I work with the women's basketball team here at BYU and I am so thankful that I have this great opportunity to do this. The team is like a second family. The other day I was looking on Instagram and one of my teammates going through an ACL injury posted quote I really like.

"Athletes: Don't take the sport you play for granted. Every time you play, you better be damn thankful that you get to do something you love. Don't show up to practice complaining about not wanting to be there; you're there hopefully because you love it. Work hard every moment. If you're not working hard, you don't deserve to play. Play every practice or game like it's your last because it very well could be. When you finally reach the day that you can't play, and you can only watch, then you will know how much you love something that you once took for granted."

We need to realize that we can't take things in life for granted. I would give anything to step foot onto a basketball court and play in a game. I can only imagine what my teammate with an ACL injury is feeling now because I know the feeling to not be able to play the game I truly love. She had this privilege ripped away from her. I know this feeling of heartbreak.

Take time to thank people in your life!

My sister called me the other day and told me to watch this video on YouTube, so I did. It was so easy to do this because of the media that we have in today's world. It was great! It was about this girl that was about to have her first baby. On the way home they got in a car crash and her husband was killed and her baby had to be in the hospital and was not doing good at all. With help from doctors they saved her little boy. In this video she talks about that years later she thanks all who helped to save her little boy. In this case I think media is so great! Most of the time we get busy in life and we forget those who have helped us in different ways. It reminded me of all those who have helped me in my life and made me want to thank them for all that they have done for me. It made me realize that somethings so little can mean so much. I think that media can be so good we just need to not be on it all day every day and be careful.

I love to watch the news and see what is going on in our world today. I was watching the other day and they were talking about all the police shootings during 2014, and how there are so many people that are mad! As I watched this it really made me think about how I feel about all of this. Yes it is so sad, but I feel like they are doing their job. They are keeping us all safe. People are getting mad but I feel like they are trained and know what they are doing. I also think if an officer asked you to do something you have to do it. The law is the law and we need to realize that they are only trying to make it safe. Watching this made me really think what I believe and really made me realize how grateful I am for those who are putting their life to make me safe.

BEING GRATEFUL!!

Media can be so good! I have made a goal for 2015 to take the time to try to read a conference talk every a week so the other day I was read one that was called" Grateful in any circumstance" by president Uchtdorf. In it he talks about that sometimes we only tend to turn to the lord in our struggles but we need to turn to him often. I really liked Uchtdorf said,”How much of life do we miss by waiting to see the rainbow before thanking God that there is rain.” This is so true! I also liked when Uchtdorf said “Being grateful in our circumstances is an act of faith in God. It requires that we trust God and hope for things we may not see but which are true."
This really made me think because I tend to have faith but sometimes fear at the same time and it does not work like this. It made me think and try to work on this this week. I am thankful for this kinda of media it makes me better and really think!

Make the Best of Everything

I watched this inspiring video on KSL that was so good. It can teach us all a lesson in some way. The video was called, "Wasatch High swimmer inspires teammates and community". It was about this boy who is blind. He swims on his high school team and does not let anything stop him from doing what he loves. What really stood out to me was the way his teammates helped him to be as successful as possible. Not only that, but to see their love and happiness for him when he does well is incredible. To see how they cheer for him on the sidelines makes me want to cry. There are so many great examples that we can learn from. Such as:

People that are just nice and accepting to everyone no matter what their differences are.
&
People being willing to take the time to be able to help someone else be successful.
&
The willingness to be patient and help people around you to succeed.

Throughout this week I have really thought about how hard life gets sometimes. However, we can't let that stop us from doing everyday activities. My friend's brother Kale has inspired me with the desire to do better and make the best of everything!
